🌱 Save the tropical forest: stop reforestation and soil erosion! 🌱
Introduction : Imagine a world in which formerly fertile soils are protected from erosion, native trees grow again and nature returns to its original state. However, in Costa Rica, a country with one of the greatest biological diversity in the world, many tropical forests have been destroyed by large-scale deforestation. The topsoil that has nurtured life for thousands of years is now threatened by erosion - and with it the future of countless animal and plant species.

The problem : In recent decades, huge areas of tropical forest in Costa Rica have been cleared for agriculture and livestock farming. What remained were depleted soils that can hardly support life:
Soil erosion:: The topsoil is washed away by rain, which endangers biodiversity.
But there is hope: With targeted reforestation and sustainable methods, we can turn these destroyed areas back into flourishing tropical forests.
Loss of habitats: Many animal species have lost their natural habitat due to deforestation.
Climate change:: Without the forests, an important carbon store that could slow down the greenhouse effect is missing.
Our solution: We plan to carry out sustainable reforestation on at least 10 hectares of fallow land in Costa Rica by planting native trees and tropical crops.
What do we want to achieve?
Stop soil erosion: Deep-rooted tree species stabilize the soil and protect it from erosion.
Protect the climate: The planted trees bind CO₂ and help mitigate the global greenhouse effect.
How the land was destroyed: Previous large-scale deforestation for pastureland destroyed the ecological balance of the region. Monocultures and chemical fertilizers depleted the soil, and without trees the topsoil could not be protected from heavy tropical rain.
Restore biodiversity: Native plants and animals return when we regenerate the forests.
Sustainable land use: Local communities benefit from fertile soils and renewable resources in the long term.
Now it's time to change that!
Costa Rica, one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, has suffered severe deforestation over the decades, leaving once-lush tropical forests barren and degraded. Intensive land use for agriculture and cattle ranching has stripped the soil of its nutrients, caused erosion, and destroyed habitats for countless species. These lands are now at risk of becoming completely infertile.
Our Vision:
We aim to restore 10 hectares of degraded land into a thriving tropical paradise! By planting native tree species and using sustainable soil regeneration methods, we will:
Stop soil erosion: Deep-rooted tree species stabilize the soil.
Protect the climate: Planted trees will sequester CO₂ and improve air quality.
Restore biodiversity: Native plants and wildlife will return.
Build a sustainable future: Local communities will benefit from fertile land and renewable resources.
– Acquiring and Protecting the Land : We aim to purchase this unique area and shield it from deforestation and degradation.
– Creating a Wildlife Sanctuary : The land will be dedicated exclusively to animals, free from human interference or exploitation.
– Expanding the Protected Area : Over time, we will grow the sanctuary to offer safe habitats to even more species.
Our Plan:
To make the funding goal achievable, we are starting with a pilot project on 1 hectare of land, requiring a crowdfunding goal of €25,000. This pilot will serve as a foundation for further reforestation efforts and showcase the first visible results.
